9710 box plans

this is from some photocopies from my ‘archive.’ I picked two box plans for the philips 9710 full-range speaker, mostly because the damping material wedge makes them look like a tapered pipes. I guess both of them work much more like a monkey coffin: simply a closed box.

I have no definite proof that this these plans were published by philips, but all typography and graphs are in philips house style, so there you go:

box A4: ‘for well-spread mono reproduction. not recommended for stereo.’

box A5: ‘very suitable for stereophonic reproduction. small footprint.’

for the both of them there is the following instructions:

the wedge is made of kramfors (you figure out what that is) or glass wool. the wedge should be jammed from all sides inside the box. no glue anywhere in or on the wedge. sharp end of the wedge should be as narrow as possible (couple of cm).
